Danielle Boal of Boal Jewellery is a Melbourne based jeweller who specializes in cufflinks with a sartorial elegance, reflecting the contemporary culture of Australia. “The style is the man himself” With George-Louis Leclerc de Buffon’s statement in mind Danielle hopes her jewellery helps to discern a sense of identity for the wearer.
Working mainly in sterling silver Danielle’s craft melds the age-old techniques of traditional gold and silversmithing with the modern developments in design and manufacture with particular interest in the exploration of computer-aided design (CAD).
Beginning at the Goldsmiths school in Brisbane in 2001, Danielle discovered a love for the tools, materials and techniques that are fundamental to the trade and made the decision to further her studies and accreditation with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT in Melbourne. Further to completing the trade qualifications Danielle gained employment within the retail sector in two small, newly established jewellery business’ which provided a brilliant environment to observe and experience first-hand the opportunities and risks in operating a small business as a jeweller.
