A collection of hats for men.
Milner Tess Ebinger states: This collection has been inspired by the flamboyance of nature, and the ‘restrictions’ of Victorian men’s fashion. I wanted to combine the striking frivolity and colour of various feathers and trims with the stark lines of classic shapes of an outwardly restrained but passionate era. I would like to think these pieces take this time’s obsession with cut, sex, aesthetics, poetry and death and combine it with our modern fearlessness of fashion.
Tess has been studying millinery since 2007 both in private classes and local/international courses. She won both 2nd and 3rd place awards in the 2013 Royal Melbourne Show millinery competition and was photographed for The Age at Fashions on the Field that same year. Tess designs bespoke pieces for private clients, both men and women, as well as providing a select range of hand-made hats for Melbourne institution City Hatters.
The full collection will be released online on the day of the exhibition.
