Fossil Fools by Simon Bowland as part of the VITROFORM exhibition
When I set out to reimagine a vintage test-tube, the most compelling associations were with science and technology. I;m fascinated by how they have shaped the way we live (the benefits and the costs), and the potential they have to impact the threads we face into the future (such as climate change and other environmental disasters). Like the poem ‘No man is an island’ by english author John Donne, Australia is involved in the world and we are all part of the greater whole. If we ignore the long-term costs of not embracing new solutions, we risk becoming “Fossil Fools”.
